On Saturday 9th of October 2021, Sr. Helen Mary made her first profession as Redemptoristine Nun.
Helen entered our monastery 3 years ago after years looking after elderly parents and running her own business.
You can read more about her vocation story here: https://www.rednuns.com/sr-helen
Here are a few photos of her beautiful profession day and a poem written by Sr. Helen which describes her experience of God calling to her soul.
God Calls to Our Souls
God calls to our souls as we journey.
He calls to us in different ways.
In the magnitude of the mountains and waves.
In the miniscule hermit crab and bee.
God calls to our souls as we journey,
To see and hear His creation,
to show us His power and His gentleness,
in the world and in our lives.
God calls to our souls as we journey,
to our being – mind, soul and body all one,
to listen and hear His words spoken,
in sights and sounds of our world today.
God calls to our souls as we journey
as we travel through life on His way,
to listen, hear, look and see
to be open to Him each day.
God calls to our souls as we journey
to be open to Him and His promptings
to be willing to say “yes” to His leadings,
to be open to His will in our lives.
God calls to my soul as I journey
to be open to Him this day
to accept and open the gifts He has given
and use them in my being today.
God calls to my soul as I journey
To follow His lead, on His way
In the calms and the storm I will journey
for He is beside me, Lord show me your way.
